Butch Lindley #16 figures what fair for one is fair for all, so he helps Bobby get around the track a little faster.
Billy McGinnis put his quick Camaro on the pole. He and Bobby swapped the lead 12 times during before an engine problem put McGinnis in the garage.
What more could a promoter ask for? Tom Dawson was blessed with fair skies, s standing-room-only crowd and a star-studded field for the eighth running of the derby.
Bobby #12 and Jody Ridley #98 went at each other all day for the marbles but it was Bobby at the wires. Here they lap Mobile International Speedway promoter Lee Fields in the "Pink Panther".

Bobby's 1973 Chevrolet suffered extensive damage after a 45 car pile up at Talladega. NASCAR started 60 cars back in these days.

Bobby's Dodge and Hoss Ellington's Mercury lie battered on Daytona's backstretch.
(Top to bottom) Ronnie Sanders #18 and bobby lock front ends as Darrell Waltrip goes by. As the two combatants slide into pit road. A herd of cars get by. To the dismay of on comers Sanders angrily creates a roadblock with his unmanageable mount. Ed Howe got by unscathed but chuck Arnold was forced into the wall. Ed Hoffman vacates the scene of the accident to the inside.
